Auroville International Meeting in Montreal
AVI Meeting in Montreal, September 19-27, 2007: Auroville and the Future of Human Race.
The
main AVI meeting for this year will be held in Canada. The recent
meeting in Kazakhstan was an additional meeting to more directly share
the Auroville experience with people there who were interested to know
more about Auroville while this Canada meeting will be a more “typical”
AVI meeting including a board meeting for AVI association. It is always
appreciated to have a few Aurovilians present and so this invitation is
extended as a final call for participation as the deadline in near.
From Auroville, Kathy (as AVI liaison), Ingo and Thillai plan to
attend. If you will be in Canada or the states later in the year and
could participate, please let me (Kathy) know immediately. If you know
people in the Montreal area who may like to know more about Auroville,
please also note the public meeting on Saturday 22nd September.
This
is a unique opportunity to meet each other and debate while discovering
the vibrant cultural city of Montréal (second largest French-speaking
city in the world), and also the magnificence of Canadian nature at the
autumn season.
Here is a programme draft (total nine days):
1) Montréal - Cultural Programme:
Wednesday
19 September: Arrival of participants at nice B & Bs in the "hip
hop" Plateau Mont-Royal, around Parc Lafontaine (area where most of the
board members of AVI-Canada are living in Montréal)
Thursday
20: Tour of Montreal City (Parc Mont-Royal; Vieux-Port; Biosphere;
Biodome; St-Denis Street and Sri Aurobindo Center, etc.)
Friday 21: visit to Cirque du Soleil (Headquarters); Multi-etnic and multi-cultural Montreal
Saturday 22: Public Meeting and conference on Auroville (exhibition, films, speeches by Shraddhalu and others speakers, etc.)
2) Eastman, Board meetings and other meetings:
Sunday 23: departure for Spa Eastman (1 hour from Montreal)
Monday 24 to Thursday 27: various meetings (Board, AGM, cultural, etc.) and various visits
Friday 28: closure of meeting; departure
Cost
(all included: lodging, food, transport, visits, etc.): Can$ 1125. or
USD$ 1060. or 795 euros (revised rates) for the nine days. This package
price for the nine days represents an amount of Can$ 125.per day. For
those who want to come only at Spa Eastman, the cost will be of Can$
150.per day, and for those who register after 15th of August, the cost
will be of Can$ 175 per day.
